Spotlight: ATP Tour

Meet the ATP Tour… enabling sustainability impact in and through sport and the “#SeeingGreen Solutionist of the Day” for January 23.

The ATP Tour is the premier global professional tennis circuit for men, featuring tournaments across six continents and showcasing the world’s top players. Founded in 1990, the tour has grown into a prominent sporting organization.

Recognizing its significant global reach and influence, the ATP has committed to leveraging its platform to promote environmental responsibility and sustainability within the sport and beyond. A signatory to the UN Sports for Climate Action initiative, the ATP Tour has implemented the “ATP Serves Sustainability” initiative aimed at integrating eco-conscious practices across its operations, including by optimizing travel schedules, encouraging sustainable transportation and exploring carbon offset programs. The organization has partnered with tournaments to adopt renewable energy, eliminate single-use plastics and implement waste reduction programs. The ATP engages its players, such as through the Carbon Tracker – ATP’s award-winning sustainability app enabling players to track and mitigate travel emissions on Tour. The ATP’s fan engagement includes promoting sustainable practices during tournaments as well as leveraging its social media platforms and on-site event messaging to encourage adoption of sustainable behaviors, both at tournaments and in their daily lives.
