Spotlight: SailGP

Meet SailGP… the “most exciting racing on water” and the “#SeeingGreen Solutionist of the Day” for August 19.

Founded in 2018, SailGP is a global #sailing championship featuring high-performance F50 catamarans, which are some of the fastest and most technologically advanced racing boats in the world. SailGP races take place in iconic locations around the globe, with teams representing different nations competing in a series of grand prix events.

Sustainability is at the core of SailGP’s mission. SailGP’s Impact League, a world-first in sports, ranks teams not only on their performance in races but also on their sustainability efforts, encouraging teams and their fans to take active roles in reducing their environmental impact. With a goal of being powered entirely by clean energy by 2025, SailGP also has launched its “Race for the Future” initiative, which focuses on accelerating the transition to clean energy. The league also partners with various environmental organizations to promote ocean conservation and climate action. Through these initiatives, SailGP is making significant strides in promoting sustainability within the sport and beyond.
