Spotlight: Fair Harbor

Meet Fair Harbor… sustainable lifestyle brand and the “#SeeingGreen Solutionist of the Day” for October 24.

Founded in 2014 by siblings Jake and Caroline Danehy, Fair Harbor is a sustainable lifestyle brand, best known for its eco-friendly swimwear and casual apparel inspired by the co-founders’ childhood summers in Fair Harbor, Fire Island, New York. Fair Harbor focuses on creating high-quality, stylish, and comfortable clothing made from recycled materials. The brand offers a range of products, including swim trunks, board shorts, and casual wear, catering to those who seek both performance and sustainability in their fashion choices. Fair Harbor is a Certified B Corp.

On a mission to “Protect the Places We All Love,” Fair Harbor is focused on making a positive impact on the environment by using recycled materials, responsible partners, and ethical, earth-friendly practices for all of their apparel. To help reduce plastic waste and protecting the environment, the brand’s signature products are made from recycled plastic bottles, which are transformed into soft, high-performance fabrics. To date, Fair Harbor has helped to keep an estimated 35,000,000+ plastic bottles out of waterways. The brand uses materials deemed more sustainable, including recycled polyester, Seawool, Tencel and organic cotton. Additionally, the company promotes a circular economy with its Swimwear Recycling Program that encourages customers to return old swimwear to be recycled into new materials. From ethical sourcing and production to plastic-free packaging, Fair Harbor integrates sustainability into every aspect of its business, aiming to reduce the environmental impact of fashion.
