Spotlight: MasayaCo

Meet MasayaCo… the “#SeeingGreen Solutionist of the Day” for October 16.

Founded in 2014, MasayaCo is a sustainable furniture company changing the way furniture is made, using wood grown in reforestation projects to create heirloom-quality furniture. Specializing in handcrafted, artisanal pieces inspired by the rich design heritage of Nicaragua, MasayaCo offers a range of products, including chairs, tables, and decor items.

Reforestation and sustainable land management practices are at the core of this MasayaCo’s mission, including through their Seed to Seat® model of vertical integration of their reforestation and sustainable forestry practices with their finished products. The company focuses on using responsibly sourced, renewable hardwoods ensuring their products have a minimal environmental impact. One of their core initiatives is a reforestation program in Nicaragua, where they plant trees to offset the wood used in their products. For every piece of furniture sold, MasayaCo plants 100 trees, contributing to reforestation efforts and helping restore the country’s ecosystems. Additionally, MasayaCo integrates sustainable practices throughout its production process, from the materials used to the energy-efficient manufacturing techniques, further reinforcing their dedication to ethical and eco-friendly business practices.

In their words…
“With over a million trees planted, we are changing the way furniture is made. Join us in shaping a brighter future for generations to come.”
