Spotlight: Under the Canopy

Meet Under the Canopy… sustainable home brand and the “#SeeingGreen Solutionist of the Day” for November 16.

Under the Canopy is a sustainable lifestyle brand that specializes in eco-friendly home textiles and apparel. Founded in 1996 and now part of the Hilco Brands portfolio at Hilco Global, the company offers sustainable home essentials that are “better for you, your home and our planet.” Its products include bedding, bath items, clothing and home decor, all made with organic and sustainable materials.

The company places sustainability at the heart of its mission, aiming to reduce environmental impact while empowering social change. Under the Canopy uses organic cotton and other sustainable materials to minimize water usage, chemical inputs, and waste. Under the Canopy uses a minimum of 97% organic cotton, non-GMO in all of its products and follows the Global Organic Textile Standard. The brand requires the use of the OEKO-TEX global certification standard to promote use of eco-friendly dyes and mandates that all cellulosic fibers and woodbased products be made from ecooptimized tree pulp as certified by the Forest Stewardship Council. By adhering to high environmental and social standards, Under the Canopy promotes wellness for people and the planet, making sustainability accessible without compromising affordability or style.

In their words…
“Products that are beautiful and better for you should not be exclusive to people with deeper pockets. We believe everyone should have access to organic goods that keep themselves, their families, and their planet healthier.”
